Update 14th June 2014. By Matt Cambourne, photos by Ian R.
We had a superb Mixed Traffic Weekend last weekend and the weather was on our side largely this year.
Highlights included double headed Warships, double headed Westerns and an 11 coach "mega train" from Bishops Lydeard to Minehead and return operating "limited stop".
Generally the event went well barring a minor fault with a loco on Sunday afternoon which caused some delays.
To commemorate D-Day we affixed a wreath to the front of several of the trains running around as pictured below.
Meanwhile Diesel running days are in full swing now, see the diesel running dates page for more info. The first photo below from Ian shows D7017 working the diagram the previous weekend.
D6575 successfully worked the diagram on Friday 13th. It wasn't an unlucky day for DEPG Member Secondman Jason who was examined as competent to be a Driver on the loco. Congratulations to Jason and welcome to the Diesel Driver ranks!
